How to post a curb alert that actually gets picked up
A good curb alert can clear your curb in under an hour. A bad one sits there until trash day. Here's the difference.
1. Post it the second it's on the curb
Curb alerts live for 24 hours on the Deal Board. Every minute counts — post from your phone while you're still outside.
2. Lead with the best item
"Free couch + boxes of stuff" beats "free stuff." Name the headline item first.
3. Add a photo
One honest photo of the pile does more than three paragraphs. Show what's actually there.
4. Be specific about the address
Cross streets are fine if you don't want your exact house number public. But "near West Ave" isn't enough — give people a real corner.
5. Say what's wrong with it
"Couch, comfy, cat scratched one arm" gets picked up faster than a mystery couch. Honesty filters for people who actually want it.
