Frequently asked questions

How San Antonio Thrift works — posting, browsing, cities, routes, and more.

Is it free to post a sale on San Antonio Thrift?

Yes. Posting is free: garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, moving sales, curb alerts, store discounts, clearance, and free listings. You need a free account to post.

Do I need an account to browse the deals?

No. The deal board, the weekend pages, and the seasonal pages are public and free to browse with no account. A free account unlocks posting a deal, saving deals, and the route planner.

What cities does San Antonio Thrift cover?

San Antonio, New Braunfels, Boerne, and Schertz, Texas. Use the location menu in the site header to switch cities.

What kinds of things can I post?

Garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, moving sales, curb alerts (free stuff at the curb), local store discounts, clearance sales, and free listings. Each listing shows its dates, times, prices, and location.

How do sale dates and times work?

Dates, times, and prices come from the person who posted the listing and are shown on each deal page. Sales that have ended leave the board automatically. Always check the listing details before heading out.

How does the route planner work?

With a free account, add sales to a route under "My routes" and open it on sale day to hit multiple sales in one trip. If you share your location, the stops sort nearest-first.

Can I promote my listing?

Yes. An optional paid promotion pins your sale to the top of the deal feed, the weekend view, and search results for 7 days. Promoted listings are clearly labeled "Promoted".

Where do the listings on the deal board come from?

Two places. Neighbors post sales directly on the board for free, and our scouts gather public listings from sale sources: Craigslist, YardSaleSearch, EstateSales.net/EstateSales.org, and gsalr. Scout-gathered listings always carry a "Source:" line in the description linking back to the original post, so you can verify dates, times, and prices at the source. See the full list at sanantoniothrift.com/?p=sources.

How do I report a problem listing?

Every deal page has a report option. Listings that collect 3 reports are hidden from the board automatically.

How do I request a listing correction or removal?

If you posted the listing, you can edit or delete it any time from your profile. For a scout-gathered listing (one with a "Source:" line), email support@sanantoniothrift.com with the listing link and what needs fixing — correction and takedown requests are reviewed promptly. The full policy is at sanantoniothrift.com/?p=sources.

Is there a Spanish version?

Yes. Use the Español toggle in the site menu to switch the whole site to Spanish.

What is Thrift Saturday?

Thrift Saturday is our Shop Small-style holiday shopping event on November 28, 2026 — a day to thrift unique holiday gifts at San Antonio thrift stores, consignment shops, estate sales, and garage sales. See the event page at sanantoniothrift.com/?p=thrift-saturday.
